Tomato bag

Isto de fazer sacos dá-me mesmo imenso gozo. Já não tenho de andar à procura do saco com o padrão, o tamanho ou o formato ideais para mim; posso fazer o meu saco! É uma sensação quase libertadora (parece exagero, eu sei).

Este então é óptimo: levo-o para todo o lado. Para a faculdade. Para ir trabalhar. Para a biblioteca. Até para o supermercado (o propósito inicial para o qual o saco foi concebido).

This thing about making bags feels great. I no longer have to pursuit the ideal pattern or the perfect dimensions; I can actually make my bag! It feels almost liberating (I know this may seem like I'm overreacting).

I take this particular "tomato bag" everywhere I go. To university. To go to work. To the library. And even to the supermarket (which was its initial purpose).

Desta vez tentei fazer uma capa para livros com um bocado de chita vintage que encontrei em casa da minha avó.

O interior é em vichy verde, suponho que tenha sobrado de um dos nossos bibes de quando éramos pequenos.

This time I've tried making a book cover with a piece of vintage "chita" that I've found at my grandmother's.

The interior is made of green gingham, which I suppose is some piece of leftover fabric from when we were children.

Saco de retalhos para pijama / Patchwork pyjamas case

Desta vez a encomenda (ou melhor, o desafio) era fazer algo, em tons de azul, onde arrumar o pijama. Saiu-me esta espécie de fronha.

This time I had a particular order (more like a challenge to me): something blueish where to put your pyjamas in so that they sit nicely tidy on the bed. I came up with this sort of pillowcase.

Little strawberries

Comprei um metro deste tecido no Chocolate à Chuva... a encomenda vinha com uma surpresa: este galão a condizer! Obrigada Tânia! :)

I bought 1 mt of this fabric from Chocolate à Chuva... there was a surprise in the parcel: a piece of this lovely matching trim. Thanks Tânia!:)

Studio-to-be

Ganhei o direito a utilizar o quartinho dos fundos cá de casa. Chamo-lhe pomposamente "o meu atelier".

I have now the right to use the small room in the back of the kitchen. In a pompous manner, I call it "my studio".

Saco reversível / One girl, two bags

A Gracinha encomendou-me um saco, depois de termos estado a ver tecidos no meu "atelier" em construção. Fi-lo reversível e com fundo.
Hoje fomos "brunchar" ao Delidelux e aproveitámos para tirar umas fotografias do saco à beira-rio. (Obrigada Tiago pela paciência!)

Gracinha ordered me a bag after we've been through the fabrics in my studio-to-be. I've made it reversible and with a bottom. Today we went to Delidelux for a brunch and we took some pictures of the bag by the river. (Thanks Tiago for your patience!)

One side is a red fabric with small white polka dots, the other one is a "chita" from Alcobaça (a traditional Portuguese kind of fabric).
