Após 40 anos a fazer tricot, a minha mãe fartou-se de coser as peças e passou a fazer praticamente todas as camisolas top down, ou seja, a partir de cima e sem costuras nenhumas. Quando conversámos sobre isto, a minha mãe acrescentou que faz as mangas segundo o método do magic loop, em que em vez de 5 agulhas usa uma agulha circular (não faço ideia do que isto significa, mas se googlarem "magic loop" verão que há uma série de vídeos a respeito desta técnica).
Para além das revistas francesas (algumas compradas há 30 anos) e americanas e dos livros da Marie Claire Idées (que têm modelos giríssimos mas com costuras), a minha mãe tem usado bastantes modelos do Ravelry. Vou mostrar-vos alguns dos casacos e camisolas feitos recentemente para o Rodrigo (todos top down e todos com instruções em inglês):
My mother has been knitting for 40 years but she says she's tired of sewing seams — recently she's been knitting most of her pieces top down. When we talked about this my mother added that she usually knits the sleeves using the magic loop method instead of 5 needles (I've no idea what this means but if you google "magic loop" you'll find lots of videos about this technique).
In addition to French and American magazines (some of the French ones were bought some 30 years ago) and the Marie Claire Idées knitting books (which have lovely patterns but all of them have seams), my mum has been using lots of Ravelry patterns. I'm going to show you some of the jerseys and cardigans she's been knitting for Rodrigo (all top down):
