Ninguém é imune ao fascínio da imagem fotográfica: um simples click captura um instante na vida de uma pessoa e na história da humanidade. Tenho passado horas a explorar o espólio fotográfico da Biblioteca do Congresso dos EUA no Flickr. Uma das colecções que mais me impressiona é aquela que se intitula 1930s-40s in Color, talvez por ser tão raro encontrar fotografias a cores deste período, especialmente da vida quotidiana dos cidadãos comuns. Aqui ficam algumas das minhas preferidas.

Photography fascinates everyone: one single click captures a moment both in a person's life and in the history of mankind. I've been spending hours exploring the US Library of Congress' Flickr photostream. One of the collections that impresses me the most is called 1930s-40s in Color, perhaps because it's so unusual to see ordinary people's lives from that era photographed in colour. Que bonitas cores. É verdade, não se vêem tantas fotos a cor deste periodo. As pessoas ficam mais reais e mais contemporâneas. Adoro a "girl standing by fence with doll". Sempre tive uma "veia" vintage e agora ando mesmo mais interessada.
