Hoje está o dia perfeito de Inverno: céu azul, muito sol e frio. Ultimamente tenho tido vontade de ter mais alguns vestidos para dias como este. É tão fácil comprar vestidos no Verão mas, mal o tempo fica mais frio, a tarefa torna-se complicada, não acham?

Today's the perfect winter day: blue skies, very sunny and cold. Lately I've been wishing I had more winter dresses in my closet. It's so easy to find dresses in the summer but when the days get colder, it's a lot harder to buy decent ones. Do you agree?

O post de hoje é assumidamente narcisista: já que estou sempre a falar em vestidos, lembrei-me de ir espreitar os meus álbuns de fotografia para ver como eram os vestidos que as crianças usavam no início dos anos 80. Reparei que eram parecidos com que se usam agora, e é assim mesmo que gostaria de vestir uma filha minha (caso a venha a ter!). E vocês, vestiam roupa muito diferente? Não a querem mostrar nos vossos blogs?

Today's post is narcissistic: since I'm always rambling about dresses, I thought I'd go through my old photo albums and find out which kind of dresses children were wearing in the early 1980's. I reckon they were quite similar to today's outfits and this is precisely how I wish to dress a daughter of mine (provided that I have one!). What about you, were your clothes much different? Why don't you show them on your blogs? I'd love to see them!

Dress to Impress :: films set in the 1930's

Há filmes que, independentemente das suas outras qualidades ou defeitos, merecem ser vistos e revistos pelo cuidado e rigor na recriação de ambientes e guarda-roupa. Passados nos anos 30, lembro-me de Gosford Park, Atonement, A Good Woman, Mrs. Henderson Presents e da mini-série Love in a Cold Climate (isto para não falar nos filmes da própria década de 30, bem entendido). E agora gostaria das vossas sugestões: que filmes vêem e revêem só pelo guarda-roupa?

Regardless of their other qualities or faults, there are films that deserved to be watched over and over again just for their accuracy when it comes to interiors and costume design. Set in the 1930s, I recall Gosford Park, Atonement, A Good Woman, Mrs. Henderson Presents and the mini-series Love in a Cold Climate (not counting with all the films actually made in the 1930s, of course). And now I'd like to read your suggestions: what films do you watch just for the clothes?
