Hoje passei uma óptima tarde no jardim, a lixar móveis, semear flores e coser o debrum no quilt (feito com camisas) que a minha mãe trouxe para o Tiago. Viva o Verão inglês!
Today I spent a lovely afternoon in the garden sanding furniture, sowing seeds and hand-sewing the binding on Tiago's new quilt (made by my mother using old shirts). Hurrah for English summer!

I can't wait to see the finished quilt. I've saved two decades' worth of my husband's dress shirts, all white and various blues, for just such a purpose. One child's quilt I saw years ago used the shirt pockets in every other 8-inch square. Then a small toy was placed inside. Since my sons are now grown, I doubt I'll go that route (and a grandchild is highly unlikely), so I look forward to yours. I love what I can see already! Yes, summer (and spring) in England is a glorious time. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI love the color, very very nice!
ReplyDeleteWowee Concha, you must have such patience! Oooh that blanket looks perfect for movies on the sofas or days in bed.
