Blog Love

Some months ago I deleted my blogroll (that list of blogs I follow). Truth is, many of those links weren't working anymore and nowadays (i.e. since Rodrigo was born) I spend less time on the internet. But I still enjoy reading blogs and, interestingly enough, two of my favourite blogs are blogs I've been reading for 6 or 7 years. They've proved to be exciting to me from the start, they've made me want to be a part of this online community and I still identify myself with them. They are serene, inspiring and profoundly human. I'm talking about Soulemama and Posy gets Cozy. I've been following the lives of these two women for years, they've invited me into their homes, I've witnessed the birth of their children, I'm in awe of their daily conquests, I'm amazed at the way they portray nature, I delight in their babies' faces. I feel in sync with them and I like the way they envisage the world.

There is a blog for every possible taste. I prefer those that convey good feelings and that make me want to be a better person.

What about you, what are your favourite blogs?

Beijinhos

  12. Love Posie Gets Cozy for the same reasons I enjoy your blog beautiful earthy photos and very real posts that leave me inspired. There is depth, beauty, real life and I've never once come away feeling inadequate about my home, cooking, or sewing abilities!

  14. I didn't know Posy gets cozy, I'll take a look! I also spend much less time visiting blogs (my Leo is 21 months, my Yann is 3 months, imagine : ), but lately I'm in love with Oh Dear Drea.

  21. A lot of the blogs that I read have stopped posting regularly over the past year but I think you might like http://flossieteacakes.blogspot.co.uk/ if you are not already familiar with it. Florence is exceptionally talented and you can learn a lot about sewing just by reading the posts but her voice is engaging, warm and personal. Enjoy!

    Beijinhos e sucesso.

I have to say that you have already mentioned 2 of my favourite blogs. Your own blog is also a favourite as is Jane Brocket's Yarnstorm, Lucy at Attic24 and Nicole at nicolemdesign.blogspot.ie. In fact there are so many I've been reduced to starting a Pinterest board dedicated to great blogs, since I don't write one myself!

  30. I, too, have cut back on reading blogs, just keeping up with the ones that are very much worth the time. I agree with Fiona and also recommend
    **Jane Brocket's Yarnstorm http://www.yarnstorm.blogs.com/
**Lucy's Attic 24 (her style is not my taste, or apparently yours, but it's a happy place), http://attic24.typepad.com/
    Other suggestions are:
**Knitspot (I'm a knitter and also love her gardening/nature pictures)
    http://knitspot.com/
** Brooklyn Tweed, which is just so elegant and clean
    http://brooklyntweed.net/blog/
** Becky in rural Vermont is interesting (and she's expecting a baby soon)
    http://beckyinvt.wordpress.com/
**Kate Davies at Needled is often educational and always worth reading
    http://katedaviesdesigns.com/
**Lene at Dances With Wool is simply enchanting.
    http://lenealve.blogspot.com/
**Lastly, for food, Molly at Orangette posts now and then, has some wonderful recipes along with news of their restaurants and new baby.

Even though I'm probably your mother's age, I have to put yours up with my top 3! I so enjoy following your activities, and I think you are living a wonderful, appreciative, loving life, which is very nice to see.

    1. SaidosdaConcha: A Portuguese blogger that shares amazing inspiration from around the world (Concha was born and raised in Lisbon, moved to the rural England and she's now starting a new life in New Zealand). It's definitely a favorite blog/blogger.
    2. PossieGetsCozy: Alicia's blog features beautiful inspiration (and quiet) moments from her daily life. Definitely worth a visit.
    3. nanaCompany: Amy's is an extremely talented lady and I just can't get enough of her lovely creations. I just love everything she makes!
    4. Townmouse: Everything Kristine does is pure beauty. Love her timeless and precious designs.
    5. Autant en emporte: An amazing french sewing blog from Anne-Sophie (my name as well!). Lovely and totally worth the french class.

  36. Alicia's blog (Posy Get's Cozy) was the first blog I ever read! It totally delighted my heart when her wee baby girl arrived on the scene - especially as we share a birth date! :)
I have enjoyed journeying with you too. I have to confess that my blog reading and writing this year has dropped off to almost nothing, but I do try to catch up on posts where I can (baby #3 is getting bigger, and I find I am delighting in being with him and the computer rarely gets a look-in). I look forward to catching up some more. :) Enjoy the rest of your week!
