Apesar de nunca ter enchido as paredes do meu quarto com posters de celebridades, nos últimos tempos tenho dado por mim a admirar especialmente algumas pessoas: a Alys Fowler no campo da jardinagem, a Chelsea Fuss em termos de arranjos florais e a Amy Butler, a grande rainha dos crafts. Designer de múltiplas coleccções de tecidos, a Amy estreou-se recentemente no mundo do tricot, tendo lançado uma linha de lãs biológicas e um livro de moldes. Os novelos (50% algodão/50% lã) têm um toque fantástico e o livro é especialmente forte em acessórios (as camisolas não me convenceram). Escusado será dizer que a minha mãe já começou a tricotar um cachecol...!
Although I've never been a person to cover my bedroom walls with posters of celebrities, lately I find myself admiring some people in particular: Alys Fowler when it comes to gardening, Chelsea Fuss in the floral arrangement field and Amy Butler, the great queen of crafts. A successful fabric designer, Amy has made her recent debut in the knitting world with a line of organic yarns and a pattern booklet. The skeins (50% cotton/50% wool) feel great and the booklet is especially good in terms of accessories (I admit the garments didn't win me over). Needless to say that my mother has already started knitting a scarf for herself...!
